Ever tried to find a bakery in a town you are not familiar with and want to impress the people you are having dinner with in a couple of hours? The challenge was on! Another search tool kind of helped and was 0 for 2 at first. It was looking grim. Third time WAS a charm and oh how amazingly charming the third stop was! This is a relatively old and well known to the local population bakery! It isn't cheap and the product is worth every penny paid! The staff is friendly, but were a tad standoffish to us foreigners to Tyler. After all, us folks from Dallas can be a wee bit off-putting. However, the staff learned of our challenge to find the perfect dessert and pointed us to the chiller display case where one of the most beautiful German Chocolate cakes these cake fattened eyes have ever seen! (Some quick history... German Chocolate Cake is not German but was created using chocolate created by Samuel German for Baker's Chocolate in 1852. This chocolate was Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate. However the coconut and pecan iced chocolate cake using Baker's chocolate first appeared in a recipe in the Dallas Morning News in 1957 by Mrs George Clay of East Dallas. The rest is myth and history :) ) There are also many wonderful baked items such as breads, cookies and cupcakes that had me gaining weight by just breathing. As for this cake, it wowed the hosts and their family for days! Way to go Village Bakery !!

Just got married on Friday and the cakes provided by Village Bakery were big hits! I had so many people tell me how good the cake was from design to frosting to the cake it self. I’m so glad we got to take some home since we barely got to enjoy it that night. Super flavorful moist and rich cakes! My husband isn’t normally a fan of buttercream icing but one bite of Village Bakery’s icing and he was hooked! So pleased with it I definitely recommend for those looking look no further!

My babyshower cake was SO beautiful, I loved it so much! Although, I didn’t even get to try the vanilla side, because of greed at my shower. I definitely would like to order my elopement cake here at village bakery. the chocolate side was so moist and soft and yummy.. OMG I just know that the vanilla side would have been EVEN BETTER! I may need to order a personal cake just for me and dad to try. Dad didn't even get a slice of cake which is sad. We definitely had enough cake for everybody (I just think it was that good) and of course people took some to-go without our consent. Also we had come into town from Arkansas, and didn’t have any to take back with us. This cake feeds up to 90 people, it was about 50-65 people there, PLENTY OF CAKE! When my mom placed the order she told me to call back and give them details on how I wanted it decorated.. the pictures match what I wanted, the bakers did an amazing job, it looked exactly how I visioned it. Simple quick process, I told them I wasn’t “boujie” just wanted it to taste good and look good, and they NAILED IT!! ✨🎉🎉 Definitely WILL be recommending this company..

These ladies went above and beyond to make sure the cake we ordered for our daughter’s baby shower was perfect. They worked with us on design and delivered our cake on time. Not only did it look beautiful, but it was moist and delicious. Thank you so very much for all of your help making our celebration just perfect!

Was it good? I don't personally know. My husband said it was. My sweet husband of 11 years, who has impregnated me with 4 children at this point, decided he wanted to share a cookie with me. I am pregnant with our 4th child. I said oh, sure. That sounds great. So we strolled along to Village Bakery and purchased a cookie. I said I would like to stop at Hangers of Hope nearby. Our 3 other kids were in the back of the van - but he happily obliged and dropped me off. He said "I will drive around and give you time to shop". Little did I know... When I returned - he immediately started his apology "I am sorry - before you realize it I want to apologize, it was so yummy I didn't even think about the fact that we were supposed to share it..." And I said "You ate ALL the cookie???" .... Needless to say, mistakes were made on both sides. His side (obviously) not thinking of his pregnant wife wanting at least a bite of this cookie, and me for not getting my own cookie. So for all reading this - DO NOT SHARE anything from this bakery. It is so delicious that the first sharer will forget reality and consume all of it, leaving you in the dust with not even a crumb. Buy MULTIPLE items from this bakery so everyone gets a bite!!

Besides going by there for an occasional treat of their fabulous cinnamon rolls, cheese danishes, or my favorite, blueberry danishes, we get a birthday cake there every year. Every year it is fabulous. I cannot recommend this bakery enough.

I’ve always purchased anniversary cakes from this bakery and they have always done a phenomenal job with the presentation and the taste of the cake. I ordered my wedding cake from them and the process from ordering, confirming details, making payments and having it delivered to the venue was stress free. The cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! We got many compliments on the taste and the looks of the cake. Thank you so much to the girls that helped (Emily & Liza)!!!

Delicious little bakery. I bought two petit fours, lemon and chocolate. Lemon was very light but the chocolate was amazing. The oatmeal raisin cookies and sticky bun were delicious as well but the star of the show was the rosemary sourdough. I took it home and have eaten everything from avocado toast to turkey sandwiches on it. Definitely worth a visit!

Look no further if you want great service, amazing taste and beautiful cakes!! I ordered a cake for a birthday as I live about six hours away and let me tell you…they did not disappoint! The cake was vanilla with chocolate icing. They put a thin layer of chocolate on the inside as well. The cake was moist and it was decorated beautifully! Everyone loved it and even asked for seconds the next day. I would highly recommend Village Bakery! Thank you again for helping me and understanding the assignment!!
